Merry Christmas!!!

I got so many nice presents for my first Christmas. Toys, clothes, books, you name it! Most of them were bigger than me! We stayed at Dima's house overnight so there was a lot of people and lights to look at. I had so much fun meeting all of my Dadus and Didas on Christmas eve. I even tried to sing along to their songs. I decided to wake up at about 2:30 am on Christmas morning to wait for Santa Claus, but Mommy and Daddy were unwilling to bring me downstairs until 6 am (Go figure!). The Basu family Christmas was loads of fun... I can't wait until next year!

Family Fun during the Holidays!

I hung out with lots of nice people in the last week. Last weekend, my Ba and Dada came for a visit. I was trying to help him on his computer, as you can see. (I am always helpful when it comes to putting things in my mouth anyway.)

My Sima and Prakash Uncle also wanted to see me. They came this weekend and I got lots of hugs and kisses. My Dima was very excited to have me over for Christmas eve and day. We had a nice party at our house in Maryland. This was a special occasion to remember my Dadu. I went to the temple with everyone to honor him. I tried to join in the chanting, but it was hard to keep up. I think my Dadu would have been proud of me.

My Tutun masi came from Toronto to see us. It was really fun to play with a new friend. I am pretty lucky to have such a loving family. It's a nice way to spend the holidays!

Babbling begins!

Da da da da! I just started a few days ago, and now I'm unstoppable! All that constant jabbering from Mommy and Daddy finally paid off! Who knew it would make them so happy??

Mommy says: This huge milestone is one we've been waiting for! Rohan has now surpassed where he was before he got sick. This progress shows how well his brain is working now. We are hopeful that this will continue.

Out and About...

Today, while Mommy was busy working, Daddy took me to the mall. My Grandma and Granddad (Dada) were also with us. We had a lot of fun looking at all the displays, animals, and Santa (of course). Daddy really hates the mall, so he must love me an awful lot to take me there on a busy holiday weekend. I think it was good for Grandma to go out too, since she's been at home with me the whole week! We were all getting cabin fever!

Rohan's Re-entry

Today I went to my first restaurant since I got sick. We got to watch this Japanese chef play with sharp knives and fire (a mother's dream...). I LOVED it! Mommy, can I do that when I grow up???

Hangin' out with Daddy

Daddy really wanted to take a picture of me with my UVA outfit on. He told me to pretend I was catching a football. Daddy was thrilled! Daddy and I started watching football together a few weeks ago when I was still sick. I used to be really uncomfortable and sometimes I wouldn't stop crying for hours. Well, after all else failed, Daddy plopped me in front of a football game, and I suddenly calmed down. Mommy is getting worried about this football obsession. Don't worry Mommy, whoever heard of an Indian football player!

Better watch out, better not cry...

I got all dressed up today for some pictures in front of our Christmas tree. I'm hoping that some presents arrive underneath soon... I don't know what's taking so long for Mommy and Daddy to get their acts together! I have to admit, they did buy me a lot of toys last month. The developmental specialist recommended them (or at least that's what I paid her to say!!)

Good News

Mommy and Daddy got some good news today...My EEG was 100 % normal and I can stop taking the anti-seizure medicine! Apparently I'm just being extra crazy right now, but can you blame me? I've been through a lot!

Another EEG...

I made everyone nervous this week with my behavior. I've been extra fussy every night, sometimes crying for hours. Nobody could figure out why...so they assumed the worst and started another anti-seizure medicine. I got an EEG today too. Mommy and Daddy think I might be withdrawing from the ACTH. I don't eat or drink much anymore so hopefully my appetite will get better soon. Still...everytime I wrestle mommy, I always win!

Going to Grandma's House!

This weekend I went to see my Grandma (Dima). This was the first time I've been on an outing (other than a doctor's office) in months! I had fun playing at Dima's house. I did my usual, you know... rolling, squealing, sitting up and toppling over.. She bought me a new toy that is extremely annoying to my parents... Even better!

I'm growing so fast...my clothes don't fit!

Sorry Daddy, I know you wanted me to wear this UVA hat, but it's too small for my head now! I can't believe that I'm already wearing 12 month old clothes!!! I grow out of clothes faster than you can buy them (and then I puke, pee, or poo on them). At least I'm really cute though...
