I've decided to start this blog to honor Rohan, my wonderful 8 month old son! He has been through so much in his life already, but luckily he will have a lot more of healthy and happy days ahead of him. Rohan was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms, a rare form of epilepsy on October 2, 2007. Since then he was hospitalized three times for three different treatments. The last medication (ACTH) worked to stop the seizures. He was given this medicine for 6 weeks, developed some transient side effects because of it, but now is done and doing wonderfully. His development is progressing as well!
After going through something like this, it was difficult to keep our spirits up initally. It was very hard to take things day by day, as we were told. I am happy to report that now my outlook on life is very different. I am thankful of every day my child is healthy without seizures. I will never take for granted all of the moments that we share as a family. I've learned that prayer is much more powerful than I could have imagined...as are supportive friends and family. The acts of kindness that I have witnessed renewed my faith in mankind.
So this is now Rohan's place to shine...to show everyone how amazing he is...and I'm so proud to be his mother!

This is Rohan’s Dimma saying something about Rohan. He is an amazing 8 month old. Even if he is going thru so much he smiles like a million dollar. When everyone is talking about him he gives us a smile and makes you think that he understood everything what you are just talking. He is getting so cute everyday. I pray everyday for his speedy recovery and I know he will be a perfect child in no time.
I love him so much. I talk to his pictures when I am not with him.
What beautiful sentiments in that blog post. Those are important thoughts for any parent to remember. We're so glad that things are looking up and are looking forward to keeping up with Rohan on the blog!
